I have not been on in FOREVER!!!! I just keep forgetting that I have my laptop... If that even makes sense. I've just been seeing the boyfriend a lot lately. I think in a couple weeks, he and I will be 6 months strong! We are both excited.
My Grandma and I might get another cat very soon. This will be cat number 5. The story behind this cat is that... It comes to our house all the time, I believe that it was abandoned by its owners, whomever they may be. He is a super friendly cat (or at least wants to be friendly but gets nervous about being pet, which leads me to believe that it might have been abused by other humans.) So, my Grandma and I have decided to adopt this abandoned cat, he is going to need some medical care and a lot of TLC. He isn't even fixed yet (and he is an adult, full size), there is something going on with his tail, it might be broken, I am not sure, and he is completely infested with fleas and ticks. The fleas on him are so bad, you can see where they have left sores and clumps of his fur are missing, he looks like he is in some rough shape. I think he might also have mange, but I am not sure, that is up to a veterinarian to decide. He is a sweet cat though and we would absolutely love to have this cat included in the family.
Today, I finally got this cat to eat out of the palm of my hand. Literally. I was so happy! This might not seem like a huge deal to some people but this tells me that this cat is willing to take a chance with me, to trust humans again. My skin was completely vulnerable in case he wanted to bite or scratch me, instead, he licked me. This is an excellent sign!
So now, to decide on a name. He is a creamy orange tabby with white on his chest, belly, and paws. My Grandma and I are torn between two names. I have spent the longest time with this cat and have more so gotten to know his personality. To me, it feels like his name should be Chester.
Grandma however, is going by his "coloration" and insists that he is a "gold" color. And she wants to call him Goldie. To me, Goldie is more of a feminine name and really, does not match his personality at all.
